Originally from Maine, photography has always been a passion for Stephen Baxter. It started in high school with a photography class he took on a whim and from there it was a done deal. After apprenticing with a well known Maine photographer, he left Maine and struck out on his own always with the intention of some day returning to The Pine Tree State. But fate never seemed to allow it. Now, like all misplaced Mainers, he considers himself  "Born in Maine...Living in exile" and spends most of his time running a restoration business working on antiques and contemporary furniture.

Of his life long passion Stephen says, "I haven't done professional photography for many years. If someone happens to like my work great! If they don't...that's OK too. Now, it's just for me and this online exhibit is just me having fun."

Stephen has lived in many parts of the USA before permanently settling down in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with his wife, of sixteen years, Mary. Together they have four children, eleven grandchildren and assorted dogs, cats, chickens and ducks.
